The Chapel at the breathtaking Grade II listed Harthill Hall, near Bakewell, Derbyshire in the heart of the Peak District was the perfect backdrop to the start of Cosi Tabellini’s summer photo-shoots. Harthill Hall comprises of 10 properties in a friendly, yet private complex, complete with swimming pool and sauna.
Cosi Tabellini stayed in the 13th Century chapel which, complete with an imposing stone-carved saint, who silently and solemnly oversaw the photographic proceedings, oozed a unique atmospheric ambience in a mix of medieval-modern.
Wall-mounted swords, stone-mullioned windows, comfy four-poster bed and antiques at every turn, sat seamlessly alongside a well-equipped contemporary kitchen, sink-into sofas, TV & WiFi gadgetry and a heaven-sent hot-tub overlooking surrounding fields of mooching mooing cows. A stolen moment in the blissful bubbles, during that sacred early evening summer stillness, where the view looks so perfect it could in fact have been painted, eased the strain of a busy day of photography.
Cosi Tabellini’s mix of the classic and contemporary suited The Chapel’s clever concoction of period and present-day, meant Cosi Tabellini pewter pieces simply melted into the beautiful background as if made for each other. We are hoping to return one day, to The Manor House, for a future photoshoot to sample relative modernity, as it is a youthful 16th Century building compared to The Chapel!
